Tourism and Leisure is an area in which Murray O’Laoire Architects has considerable experience. Currently, we are involved in completing a number of significant hotel projects including at Carton House. The Carton scheme also includes two new Championship golf courses, a golf club house, GUI Headquarters and museum and 115 golf villas.
We won the RIAI Gold Medal in 1991 for the Limerick Tourist Information Office an RIAI award in 2001 for our re-working of the Cork Opera House, and a number of awards for the visitor centre at King John’s Castle in Limerick.
In 2005 we received the Silver Diploma in the ‘Mixed-use Complex’ category for the scheme design of the new International Congress Centre in Rostov-on-Don at the 13th ‘Zodchestvo’ International Architecture Festival.
