Murray Ó Laoire Architects’ Cork office opened in December 2001. The office draws on the full resources of our firm's range of specialisations in areas such as housing, healthcare, education, commercial and interior design, urban planning and urban design. Local projects include the new-build CIT Cork School of Music, Cork University Hospital A&E and Day Procedures Unit, the new-build Wilton Library and Blackrock Castle, as well as a major new development at Centre Park Road, located in the emerging Cork Docklands area.
Projects further afield include the picturesque Sheen Falls Residential Development in Kenmare as well as an innovative residential and holiday home development at Countess Road, Killarney, the Killorglin Urban Renewal Scheme and Tailteann Multi-Purpose Teaching Facility for Mary Immaculate College, Limerick. Cork Opera House, a previous Murray O'Laoire Architects project, was awarded the RIAI Regional Award for the Southern Region in 2001. The CIT Cork School of Music and Tailteann, Mary Immaculate College, Limerick were both awarded at the 2008 RIAI Awards.
