Our story is one of ambition, growth, achievement and continuous change, to the point where we are Ireland’s largest architectural practice with offices in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, and offices in Russia, Poland, Slovakia and Germany.
We employ over 200 staff across a wide range of disciplines from architects and architectural technologists to planners, urban designers, interior designers and landscape architects.
MOLA’s mission is to make good architecture. We also recognise that achieving this objective means consistently providing our clients with a high quality service. We know and appreciate our ultimate resource is a highly skilled and motivated workforce, who is knowledgeable and experienced.
Among MOLA’s core aims are the recruitment of the highest calibre staff and the provision of CPD (continuous professional development) to all staff. To achieve this, MOLA defines the responsibilities of each member of staff and provides appropriate training on an ongoing basis. We believe in fostering a culture of creativity, knowledge and excellence in service provision, and much of the focus of our staff training and CPD is on these issues.
In the promotion of design, innovation and creativity, MOLA also holds internal innovation and design competitions and promote and fund both travel and research. We undertake architectural competitions to promote open and fresh thinking. This approach encourages new and innovative approaches in finding solutions. Creativity and innovation is also encouraged through our bi-annual MOLA Colloquium and Innovation Awards.
Directors, Associates and all key staff, including Project Architects and Project Technicians in Murray Ó Laoire Architects regularly attend relevant courses, seminars and conferences in areas of Urban Design, Health and Safety, Innovative Technology, Sustainability, Legislation, Conservation etc. We also provide in-house CPD opportunities for all MOLA staff and facilitate them to attend external training courses on recent developments in materials and legislation in all relevant areas of building design or planning.
Each MOLA office regularly holds design reviews; a weekly in-house review forum informs all staff on current projects; latest legislation, new materials, latest building techniques etc. External speakers are often invited to contribute. In addition to CPD, we have an on-going programme of site visits for all staff members, this allows the sharing of knowledge.
This structured approach to knowledge and active encouragement of CPD, ensures that MOLA incorporates best practice at all times and always remains abreast of all new legislation and thinking. |
