MOLA has received the Silver Diploma in the ‘Mixed-use Complex’ category for the scheme design of the new International Congress Centre in Rostov-on-Don at the 13th ‘Zodchestvo’ International Architecture Festival on October, 20th-23rd in Moscow.
The 80,000 sq.m. scheme is being designed by our Moscow Office for the Russian city of Rostov-on-Don and accommodates a new 23-storey and 4 star hotel, an 800 seat congress hall, business centre, elite retail centre and incorporated underground and surface parking. Rostov-on-Don is the capital of Rostov Oblast and the Southern administrative district of Russia, this area is experiencing considerable economic growth. Numerous companies have established headquarters here, and the city is being transformed into a modern, industrial and commercial hub.
The Architecture Festival “Zodchestvo 2005” was held in the newly restored building of Manezh in Moscow. The Festival is run by the Union of Russian Architects and presents the best architectural works of Russian and foreign architects.
The International Architectural Festival “Zodchestvo” stimulates the development of Russian architecture and urban planning and has now established a place among the other prestigious art festivals and attracted a proper public attention to the events in the world of architecture, both in Russia and abroad. It is international, representing first of all Russia, former Soviet states, and occasionally other countries as well.
