Murray O’Laoire Architects has a wide experience of and has worked successfully on a variety of Civic and Cultural buildings, including many award winning projects.
The RIAI award winners include, Cork Opera House, the Irish Pavilion for Expo 2000 in Hannover, King John’s Castle Visitor’s Centre, Dublinia Mediaeval Heritage Centre in Dublin and the Tourist Information Office in Limerick, for which MOLA received the RIAI’s Triennial Gold Medal in 1995.
We have also worked on Civic Offices for Carlow and Sligo, the Irish Embassy in Moscow, various government offices and courthouses, including the recent conservation and modernisation of the Limerick County Courthouse, which won an Opus Award in 2003.
We have also completed a new library building in 2005 for Leitrim Co. Council in Ballinamore.
Two of our most significant cultural projects have been in Cork, the European City of Culture in 2005. MOLA has had an involvement with two prominent institutions, which form part of the cultural life of the city, the proposed Cork School of Music and the Cork Opera House.
We have also been involved in various proposals for arts and cultural projects including projects for The Belltable in Limerick and a National Contemporary Art Centre in Carlow. |
